Everyone…Take a breath and exhale!

All Five Hoppers (Kim, Ryley & I at the Durham 8E residence and Will & Colby at home) rested well last night and it shows today!

Ryley made some great strides last night and we just had doctors rounds. They moved the vent settings lower and his numbers remained pretty consistent. This is a great step in the right direction. He also broke his fever last night…again. The Infectious Disease team has ordered up some additional tests just to be sure we haven’t missed anything. As I write this Ryley is getting an ultrasound of his belly and his legs just to see if there is any swelling and blood clots of any kind.

We should be seeing Ryley’s surgeon later today and get his thoughts on surgery! This has been such a roller-coaster but we have been soaking in all the prayers and support we are receiving and it’s working!

An admission representative from the Shepherd Center of Atlanta, GA is driving up here this morning. We are meeting with her at 10 a.m. to discuss placement of Ryley in their program once he is ready. This place is absolutely awesome and specializes in adolescent spinal cord injury rehabilitation. We have mentioned it before but Ryley’s road ahead is a long one but we remain #HopperStrong!

On a side note, Ryley is charming the nurses…shocking…and they “decorated” the makeshift storage area for the EyeLink sheet…picture below… Ryley continues keeping a super positive attitude and smiles often showing off those baby blues. He is also very “chatty” with the EyeLink!

Keep PRAYING for his numbers and vent settings to get to the level needed for surgery.

PRAY for us that the Shepherd Center beleives Ryley is a good fit for their program.

PRAY for the other residents of 8E who are not as fortunate as us.

I say it often and mean it every time. We love you all! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for all the prayers, love and support you are providing to the Hopper’s. We feel it every day!

Everyone take a DEEP breath….Now exhale!
